The NBA has fined Brooklyn Nets’ point guard Kyrie Irving after his antics during Game 1 of the Boston Celtics-Brooklyn Nets series. On Sunday afternoon, the Brooklynites traveled to Boston to clash with the Celtics, and the home fans were merciless with Irving.

Every time he touched the basketball, the player was booed by his former fans. He was spotted saying ‘suck my d**k’ to somebody in the arena, and after making a clutch 3-pointer, the 2016 NBA champion showed his middle fingers to some fans sitting courtside.

This action made a lot of noise around the league, but the front office didn’t enjoy that. The NBA has now fined Kyrie $50,000 for his gestures towards the fans, as well as the profanity he used to refer to some of them.

“Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving has been fined $50,000 for middle-finger gestures to fans on Sunday in Boston, as well as profane language,” Shams Charania of The Athletic reported.

This situation will likely continue happening for the rest of the series, as Celtics fans have anything but love for Kyrie. They have a big history and that won’t be forgotten anytime soon. The more Kyrie responds to the heckling fans, the more they will attack him.

This series already gave us a memorable Game 1 and we can’t wait to see the rest of one of the best matchups of this round.
