Kyrie Irving is an All-NBA performer when he’s healthy, and there’s no doubt that he has been having a fantastic season with the Brooklyn Nets. However, based on recent news, there is clearly a solid chance that Kyrie Irving won’t be finishing the season with the team.
It was recently revealed that Kyrie Irving has submitted a trade request, and it is likely that there won’t be any shortage of interest in him. In fact, it was recently reported that the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks are already among the teams that are interested in Kyrie Irving.
The Lakers and Mavericks are among the teams Brooklyn is expected to engage in Kyrie Irving trade talks as next Thursday’s 3 PM ET trade deadline approaches, league sources say.
There’s no doubt that Kyrie Irving would be a great acquisition for both the Los Angeles Lakers and the Dallas Mavericks. However, it seems as though there’s another team in the mix for Kyrie Irving, and it is clear that it won’t necessarily be easy to get him for any team that wants to add him.
The Phoenix Suns Are Interested In Kyrie Irving
Recently, Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report revealed that the Phoenix Suns are a suitor for Kyrie Irving, as they are a team that is capable of making a deal that keeps both them and the Brooklyn Nets as contenders.
Phoenix is viewed as one of the few teams capable of facilitating a deal with Brooklyn that could keep both teams in championship pursuit.

It would be interesting to see the theoretical framework of a Phoenix Suns deal for Kyrie Irving. It would likely involve a veteran like Chris Paul and one of the team’s young players such as Cam Johnson. Devin Booker would certainly be off-limits, as the goal is to pair him and Kyrie Irving. Even though he is on an expiring contract right now, it is easy to see Kyrie Irving signing long-term with the Suns if he gets a long-term deal, and he would be a solid co-star for Devin Booker based on his playstyle and ability.
Of course, the Phoenix Suns will be competing with other teams to acquire Kyrie Irving’s services. However, they definitely have some packages that can be appealing if the Brooklyn Nets decide to keep Kevin Durant and try to compete with him still on their roster.
