Three-point shooting has become a major factor in modern basketball. Coaches and teams have pretty much given up on long twos and mid-range jump shots, so you either finish below the rim or pull up from distance.
Still, there are a handful of players that can’t seem to shake off those mid-range jumpers and make the most of their damage from within the close range, as they’re just terrible three-point shooters.
Throughout the entire season, we’ve seen some great ballers brick shot after shot from downtown, and today, we’re going to let you know who are the top 10 worst three-point shooters right now.
10. Eric Gordon

Seeing Eric Gordon’s name on this list is a huge surprise, to say the least, considering we’re talking about a former three-point shot contest Champion here. Somehow, his shooting has vastly regressed this season.
The Rockets need Gordon at his best if they intend to go deep in the playoffs, and so far, he’s been hitting on just 32% of his attempts from downtown, chugging 9 threes per game but scoring on just 2.8 of them.
9. Jaylen Brown

When Jaylen Brown first entered the league, his shooting stroke wasn’t one of the reasons why everybody was so high on him. Now, entering his third year in the league, he’s still not much of a sharpshooter.
Brown’s future is bright in this league and perhaps he just needs more volume to pick up the slack and develop a consistent stroke from deep. So far, he’s shooting just 31.9% from deep on 4 attempts per game.
8. Austin Rivers

Not even during his prime – which pretty much came in the NCAA – Austin Rivers was much of a threat from deep, but at least he was a huge threat with his drives and ability to finish below the rim.
Needless to say, he’s not the superstar we all hoped he’d be, and a huge part of his disappointing career has been his lack of a consistent three-point shot. So far, he’s shooting just 31.8% from beyond the arc.
7. Kelly Oubre Jr

Kelly Oubre Jr is a walking bucket. This young man can really hoop and score in bunches, but lack of volume and playing time had stalled his development until he was finally dealt to the Phoenix Suns.
Either way, Oubre Jr’s stroke from deep has been kind of off all year long, although he’s finally starting to trend up as of late. This year, he’s hit just 1.6 of his 5 attempts from the deep per game, which is good for 31.7%.
6. Kyle Kuzma

Kyle Kuzma’s three-point shooting was quite impressive during his rookie year, but he’s kind of regressed in that regard during his sophomore season. Still, he’s proven to be the best young player in the Lakers.
Kuzma’s biggest appeal was his ability to be featured in all-shooting lineups as a small-ball center, but so far, he’s hitting just 31.7% of his shots from three-point territory, knocking down just 109 of his 344 attempts for the season.
5. Jrue Holiday

Jrue Holiday has been really impressive all year long, especially with most of the Pelicans’ starters out with an injury. He’s a stud in the defensive end, and a hell of a playmaker as well, for sure.
Still, he’s not much of a sharpshooter and has been even worse this year than throughout his entire career. So far, he ’s shooting just 31.7% from the three-point line, and that’s the only thing that prevents him from being elite.
4. Nikola Jokic

Nikola Jokic is by far one of the best big men in the world right now. He can create, finish with both hands, play below the rim or near the perimeter, rebound, and is arguably a top 5 playmaker in the league despite being a 7 footer.
Yet, Jokic’s stroke from three-point territory has really regressed this season as well, with him taking just 4 attempts from three and knocking down 1.1 per game, which is good for just 31.6% shooting.
3. Jonathan Isaac

Jonathan Isaac made it to this league because of his length, strength, physicality, and, obviously, his top-tier defense, but as you may tell by now, his offense is far behind schedule when compared to his defensive expertise.
Isaac has been an offensive non-factor for the Orlando Magic all year long and pairing him next to Aaron Gordon is a spacing nightmare. Throughout his sophomore year, he’s shooting just 30.9% from deep.
2. Joel Embiid

Joel Embiid has already stated that he’s uncomfortable starting on the perimeter and chugging up three-pointers, but he continues to do his job and is still attempting 4 shots from beyond the arc per game.
Still, the Sixers’ big man is shooting just 29.5% from downtown and looks better off in the post, where he’s become one of the most dominant players in the world thanks to his top-tier footwork.

1. Russell Westbrook

And last but not least, Russell Westbrook tops our list once again as the worst three-point shooter in the world. Russ shoots with vast confidence, but he should just stop altogether as he rarely knocks down any of his shots.
Westbrook bricks 5 three-pointers per game but hits just 1.3 of them, which is good for a horrid 27% shooting from deep. Out of 259 attempts, he’s knocked down just 70 of them, and his shooting form is just odd to watch.
