New York Post

The Atlanta Hawks have long searched for a star to get them over the top.

And now that they’ve finally found him (his name is Trae Young), they intend to keep him around for the foreseeable future.

According to Sam Amick of The Athletic, the Hawks and their star point guard are working on a deal that will have him in town for the next five years.

Bringing back Young was an important move for Atlanta. While he is still only 22-years-old, he has emerged as a legitimate superstar in this league, leading the Hawks to a Conference Finals berth after averaging 25.3 points, 9.4 assists, and 0.8 steals per game on 43% shooting this past season.

Giving him the max ensures the Hawks stay relevant for the next few years. It also gives them a good starting point as they look to improve the roster and make strides toward their goal of winning a title.
