Life has come fast at Tristan Thompson after he claimed he wasn’t going to take care of his alleged third baby. The Sacramento Kings big man found himself involved in controversy again when personal trainer Maralee Nichols claimed she was pregnant with Thompson’s baby and the player hadn’t paid any child support.

They engaged in a legal battle, with Thompson stating he wouldn’t be involved in the baby’s life, trying to settle the record with Nichols without involving lawyers or judges. He allegedly sent disturbing messages to the woman, even saying he would retire from the NBA after this season.

“You know how I feel. My feelings haven’t changed at all. [I] won’t be involved at all,” the exchange read, via US Weekly. “Btw if you think having this baby is gonna make you some money. It’s completely wrong. You are aware that I’m retiring after this season. So in terms of support it will be whatever is required monthly for someone who’s unemployed.”

The message continued: “It’s texas so it will be only a couple hundred dollars. So you better off taking this 75k I’m offering cause you won’t get nothing near that with having a kid with a father who’s unemplyed [sic] All you will have is a baby with a father who has zero involvement with the child and a few hundred dollars of child support a month.”

Tristan has given people an update on this situation, revealing he is the father of the baby on Instagram. The 2016 NBA champion shared a story telling the news, apologizing to Nichols for his prior words, vowing to have a good relationship with the girl and his son.

“Today, paternity test results reveal that I fathered a child with Maralee Nichols. I take full responsibility for my actions,” he wrote on Monday. “Now that paternity has been established I look forward to amicably raising our son.”

Moreover, Tristan apologized to Khloe Kardashian, with whom he has a 3-year-old daughter.

“Khloé, you don’t deserve this. You don’t deserve the heartache and humiliation I have caused you. You don’t deserve the way I have treated you over the years,” he shared. “My actions certainly have not lined up with the way I view you. I have the utmost respect and love for you. Regardless of what you may think. Again, I am so incredibly sorry.”

This is not the first time Tristan has done this to Khloe, and it’s unclear if he will come back from this. The big man’s personal life has gotten more coverage than his performances on the court, which explains how his level has decreased over the past couple of years.

He has three kids now and a lot to work on. The bright side is that he took responsibility for his actions and is willing to be part of the baby’s life. Nichols gave birth on December 1.
