Wizards Player Alize Johnson Is Tired Of Jokes About Him Looking Like Ravens Quarterback Lamar Jackson: “Can I Live My Life, I Might Have To Go Bald”

3 Min Read

Alize Johnson, who most recently played with the Washington Wizards, is an NBA player that was drafted in 2018 and has since played with a number of franchises across the league like the Indiana Pacers, the Chicago Bulls and most prominently the Brooklyn Nets.

Johnson has always been a role player and struggled to find a place on a roster consistently, although he did average 5.2 points and 5.0 rebounds a game when he played for the Nets in the 2020-21 season. He was waived by Brooklyn in September of this year and picked up by the Bulls with whom he played 16 games before getting waived again.

He got a 10-day contract with the Washington Wizards after their troubles with COVID-19 but failed to do anything spectacular in 3 games, averaging just 1.3 points. While his play has been anything but stellar, he caught the eye of fans on Twitter for a very different reason.

Johnson bears a striking resemblance to NFL superstar and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, which a fan jokingly pointed out in a tweet. Alize responded, clearly frustrated with the comparisons, saying he would have to consider chopping his hair off to stop the jokes.

Lamar Jackson has been out with an ankle injury for the past 3 weeks, which prompted the fan to joke that he might actually be the same person as Johnson. The player clearly doesn’t see the humor in the situation though, although he does have bigger problems to worry about at the moment. Johnson’s 10-day contract will not be renewed by the Wizards leaving him a free agent.

The Wizards themselves will be looking for different solutions after losing that game against the Bulls thanks to a DeMar DeRozan buzzer-beater. Maybe they can look into getting the actual Lamar Jackson on the court after the NFL season comes to an end?
