Tristan Thompson Calls LeBron James The Greatest Player Ever

1 Min Read

For the first time in his 9-year career, Tristan Thompson will now start this season as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. A free agent this summer, he reached a deal to move to Boston on a two-year, $19 million contract.

Ironically, one of his first media sessions as a Celtic happened to involve one of his former Cavs teammates, LeBron James. He told a Boston reporter that the 4x MVP was the greatest player ever.

The GOAT debate is one of the most controversial topics in basketball. Michael Jordan still claims that throne to many, as his skillset, dominance, and “Mamba mentality” combined to create the perfect player.

But if anybody is close, it’s LeBron. Not only does he surpass Jordan in a lot of statistical categories, but he’s also putting on a display of longevity that has never been seen before.

As a former teammate of LBJ, it’s no surprise at all to hear where he stands. In 2016, Thompson became an NBA Champion with the help of LeBron, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Love. Their 3-1 comeback is still remembered today as one of the greatest Finals performances of All-Time.
