In their first Conference Finals game since the early 2010s, the Los Angeles Lakers are completely locked into their tasks of bringing home an NBA Championship.
To get there, though, they’ll have to go through the Denver Nuggets, who just eliminated one of the West’s best teams.
Fortunately for Lakers Nation, they were able to secure a 126-114 Game 1 victory today on the backs of LeBron James (15 points, 12 assists, and 6 rebounds) and Anthony Davis (37 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists).
With a 1-0 lead, and now just three wins away from the Finals, the Lakers are looking like a strong candidate to make it all the way this season.
Of course, NBA Twitter was full of reactions from around the community. Here are some of the best:
Don’t worry, nuggets are just letting the lakers go up so they can come back

I predicted Lakers in five. But the Lakers should sweep these Nuggets.

Game 2 IMO will determine how this series turns out. If LA wins,I got LA winning in 5 but if Den wins game 2…we might have our selves a little series. No less than 6.

The Lakers set a powerful tone for the rest of the series, and it will be interesting to see how the Nuggets respond. Can the Nuggets make this a series, or will the power of LeBron and AD prove too much?
Game 2 is set for Sunday.
