LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers aren’t having an easy season. The Purple and Gold are struggling to get things going and even when they had their Big 3 fully healthy, they couldn’t get wins.
Now that Anthony Davis is out, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook can’t lead the squad to victories. James isn’t happy with this situation and people are trying to take advantage of that situation while they can.
During Thursday night’s game between the Lakers and Clippers, Tyronn Lue was spotted having an interaction with LeBron, but the player apparently didn’t like what his coach had to tell him. Following the game, Lue recalled the interaction but clarified he didn’t remember what he said.
LeBron James was looking for a lane Thursday night when the coach he won a championship with blocked his path.
The Lakers’ star was walking back to his huddle and into a timeout with his team trailing by nine only a minute into the second quarter when Lue briefly stepped in front and got the superstar’s ear. Lue chuckled later while claiming he couldn’t remember what he shared.
But whatever it was, Lue left the exchange laughing behind his black mask. And James?
“He wasn’t laughing,” Lue said.
We’ll never know what Lue told LeBron during that moment, but it’s clear that The King wasn’t feeling that. In the end, the Clippers dominated the Lakers, getting a 132-111 win over their city rivals behind Reggie Jackson’s 36 points.
The Clippers won the regular-season series against the Lakers, with LeBron admitting they are a better team than his struggling squad. Even though they don’t have Kawhi Leonard and Paul George on the court, the Clips are playing solid basketball, having a better record than the Lakers and Brooklyn Nets.
