All eyes were going to be on Victor Wembanyama at the 2023 NBA Draft, but it was another Wembanyama who stole the show that night.

NBA fans were in awe of his elder sister Eve Wembanyama and she very quickly went viral. It appears some individuals might have been trying their luck with her on Instagram, but Eve had a clear message for her new admirers.

“Sorry y’all… I’m taken.”

Eve Wembanyama

Well, she is clearly off the market, much to the disappointment of many, no doubt.

Eve might not be in the U.S. for much longer, as she is a professional basketball player herself. She played for Monaco in Ligue Feminine 2 last season and has represented France at various 3×3 basketball events as well.

Basketball certainly runs in the family, as their mother Elodie de Fautereau is a basketball coach and a former player while their grandfather Michel De Fautereau was a basketball player in the 1960s. Victor and Eve have a younger brother as well named Omar and he, too, is playing basketball at a junior level at this time. It is unlikely he’ll ever be as good as his brother, though, as Victor looks to take the NBA by storm in 2023.

San Antonio Will Be A Fine Second Home For The Wembanyama’s

Victor hasn’t even played a game yet for the San Antonio Spurs, but he is already a fan favorite. Rapper Mike Dimes purchased a billboard to welcome him , while another fan got Wembanyama hair art and stated that the last time they had a feeling about a player like this was with Tim Duncan.

It is a tall task to be as great as Duncan was, but Wembanyama has the potential to even surpass the Spurs icon. He has already met Duncan and other Spurs legends and claimed he learned more from them about the NBA in two hours than he had in his whole life. Here’s hoping he takes full advantage of that knowledge and blossoms into an absolute superstar.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
