The Boston Celtics and the Denver Nuggets are proving why they are among the 2 best teams in the NBA this season. Both teams are leading their respective conferences but are under pressure from rising teams below them. So, in a possible NBA Finals preview, the two teams faced each other to start 2023.

While the game has had a near-hour-long stoppage due to a bent rim in the fourth quarter, the Nuggets seemed to be proving themselves as the better team. Nikola Jokic is having a great night, and Denver’s offense has just run roughshod over Boston.

The tempers within the Celtics were evidently high after Jaylen Brown fouled Bones Hyland and fell over. JB thought the sophomore guard tried tripping him and got into his face before they were separated.

The game entered a stoppage phase one minute after this incident happened due to a bent rim.

A Season Of Altercations

The 2022-23 NBA season has seen a whole lot of chippy moments between opposing players on the court. While nothing compares to Isaiah Stewart mowing down everything in his path to get to LeBron James in 2021-22, this year has had its fair share of clashes.

We just saw almost the entire Orlando Magic team get suspended for the altercation between Moe Wagner and Killian Hayes. Klay Thompson taunted Devin Booker, Rudy Gobert got chippy while facing Utah, Montrezl Harrel refused to let Giannis Antetokounmpo shoot free throws, and a lot of other instances.

There has also been fighting within teams, as Draymond Green started the season by punching out Jordan Poole. Luka Doncic keeps yelling at his teammates in tough games, and Deandre Ayton just can’t seem to get along with Monty Williams. Tensions have been high all season long, and it’s bound to get higher as we enter the second half of the campaign.
