LeBron James is one of the best players ever, and there are definitely many people who believe that he is the greatest player of his generation. Even though this is his 19th season, LeBron James is still playing at a high level. Currently, LeBron James is averaging 29.7 PPG, 8.1 RPG, and 6.2 APG, while shooting 35.6% from beyond the arc.
There is no doubt that LeBron James is traditionally viewed as a playmaker rather than a scorer, even though he is a fantastic scorer in his own right. LeBron James has even spoken about how not being viewed as one of the best scorers ever bothers him in the past.
“The crazy thing is I’m not like a natural scorer,” James said. “I love getting my guys involved, I’ve always been that way. The point of seeing my teammate succeed off my pass. I’ve always been that type of guy. And to sit on top of the food chain in the most points scored in the history of the game is like it’s weird to me. When they talk about the best scorers of all time, they never mention my name. It pisses me off. They don’t ever bring my name to it.”
One of the records that LeBron James could potentially break by the end of his career is the all-time scoring record, currently held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Against the Wizards, LeBron James took a big step towards achieving that goal, as he became the No. 2 all-time scorer after a made layup.

A video circulated of LeBron James getting a standing ovation from the Washington DC crowd after moving to 2nd place in the all-time scorer rankings. It is clear that there’s a lot of respect for what LeBron James has been able to accomplish, even from the home fans.

LeBron James is still a top-tier superstar, even though he hasn’t had much team success with the Los Angeles Lakers this season. It is clear that his scoring has been a necessity for the Lakers this season.
Hopefully, we see LeBron James figure out a way to make the Lakers more competitive during the postseason. It is almost a certainty that the Los Angeles Lakers will be a play-in tier at the end of the season, the question is just about what play-in tier seed will they be. With that being said, it is possible that the Los Angeles Lakers will make the playoff via that route, and a LeBron James-led team shouldn’t be counted out.
