Much has been made about the health of Zion Williamson this season, who has not played since breaking his foot last summer.

And while he has been declared out for the remainder of this season, short footage of his play in a recent 1-on-1 matchup with Corey Brewer is going viral on Twitter.

This clip obviously does not portray all of the details of Zion’s current condition, but t is good news for Pels fans. He looks quick, is moving well, and still has the athleticism that helped him earn fame at Duke.

Still, there are some major questions about his future.

Regarding the status of his return to the court, we know we won’t see him play this season. Beyond that, nobody is sure, maybe not even the Pelicans…

“It is clear within the team that they do not expect him to return in the short term,” said Brian Windhorst. “it has not been a flow of good news. Zion was supposed to come back literally five months ago. So, this has been an unfortunate situation and really the question is, what can be done to make sure of his health both short term and long term? They are barrelling toward trying to make the playoffs, but when they made the CJ trade they knew there was a good chance Zion was not going to be back this season. They just don’t know when he’s coming back.”

On his long-term future in New Orleans, there are rumblings that he has already played his last game with the franchise

Regardless, Zion is set to be a star in this league and it’s only a matter of time before he shows everyone how great he will become.

This recent video is the perfect reminder of his potential, and it would serve fans well not to count him, or the Pelicans, out in the future.
