Warriors Fans Are Proud That Their Team Drafted Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, And Jordan Poole: “Real Teams Are Built Not Bought.”

3 Min Read

The Golden State Warriors are as close to a dynasty as any team has seen since the San Antonio Spurs Big 3 era came to an end. They won their titles in a more spread-apart fashion than the Warriors did, but the two successful franchises have one thing in common, they drafted most of their big stars, meaning that the core of the team was always homegrown and developed.

Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green, the heartbeat of the modern Warriors team that won 3 NBA titles, were all drafted by the organization. Curry was the 7th pick, Thompson the 11th, and Green was picked in the 2nd round. The latest player to make waves for the Warriors is Jordan Poole, who the team has been backing to win Most Improved Player, and even he was picked at No. 28 by the Warriors.

Understandably, their fans are more than thrilled with the history of drafting they have developed and after Poole’s latest performance in another playoff win over the Denver Nuggets, they took to social media to talk about it.

Not only did Warriors fans write messages talking about how elite their drafting has been, but they also suggested there is a lot more to come, with recent picks like Jonathan Kuminga, Moses Moody, and James Wiseman already showing flashes of being elite.

“Soon, if not already, the haters are going to scream ‘Unfair’ with these drafts… wait for Kuminga, Moody, and Wiseman. Damn.”

“Real teams are built not bought.”

“Meanwhile, other teams keep forming fake rosters yet have the energy to hate on us for building from scratch lmaoooo.”

“Best front office in the sport and has been for a while.”

“Warriors draft team is good at finding talent to groom.”

“The right way. Unlike those frauds in Hollywood.”

“Haters ignore this fact and have the audacity to call us frauds. Hilarious.”

“Can’t wait to see kuminga & wiseman become stars too.”

“This 2021-2022 Warriors team is likable again.”

“Warriors might seriously be unfair with Kuminga and Wiseman on the way.”

The Golden State Warriors will soon be transitioning between eras as the Splash Brothers get up there in age, but the team has an excellent balance of homegrown youth and loyal stars to be contending for a while to come. They’re also not against making the right moves in trades and free agency as well, Kevin Durant being the right example. With a front office that knows what it’s doing, Warriors fans will likely have something to look forward to for a long time to come.
