Warriors Fear Klay Thompson Has Torn His Achilles

1 Min Read

Following the reports that Golden State sharpshooter Klay Thompson went down with a lower leg injury on Wednesday afternoon, there was optimism that it was something minor.

As the situation continues to develop, however, it doesn’t spell good news for Klay or the Warriors.

While not confirmed by any means, team officials reportedly fear that Klay may have torn his Achilles tendon.

We won’t know for sure until the MRI is done tomorrow, so there is still hope that it’s not as bad as it seems.

But for a guy who has yet to take the court after an ACL tear last summer, dealing with another injury like this just isn’t good, especially when you consider that Thompson will be 31-years-old in February.

Consider his importance to the team as both a shooter and defender, an Achilles injury would be a huge blow to their title aspirations this upcoming season.

With Steph, Klay, Draymond, Wiggins, and their newly-acquired rookie star James Wiseman, they were expecting to be hoisting that Larry O’Brien trophy this summer. Instead, they might first have to deal with another injury to a key player and important figure for their legendary franchise.
