DeMar DeRozan made his Drew League debut over the weekend, and fans were treated to some solid buckets from the Chicago Bulls star.

The mid-range assassin caught some off-season practice before suiting up for his third season with the Bulls. Not to mention, the Drew League also has some great players who could give DeRozan a run for his money.

The 2023-24 season will again see DeRozan looking to lead the Bulls back to their glory days — something that’s pretty much herculean for the team. This past season, he was in his element, averaging 24.5 points per game, 4.6 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.1 steals.

And despite his consistency, coupled with some good showing from Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic, Chicago failed to make the playoffs falling to the Miami Heat in the play-in. Maybe the Drew League practice is DeRozan’s way of hinting to the NBA teams that he’s coming.

Can The Chicago Bulls Make A Deep Run In The 2023-24 Season?

The answer to that question depends on whether the Bulls will have Zach LaVine to play alongside DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic and whether the trio will fire in unison to make the postseason.

Vucevic returned to a new three-year, $60 million contract, so he will be a part of the long-term plans of this roster. LaVine is under contract for four more years, while DDR can enter the free agent market at the end of the season.

However, LaVine is expected to be traded sooner rather than later, while DeRozan will be the cynosure of all eyes if No. 8 finds a new franchise. At the time of writing, the Bulls look far from ready, and the season looks unsure.

It didn’t stop DeRozan from making the Drew League for some practice, though.
