LeBron James made an improbable and ahead-of-schedule return to the court in the Lakers’ loss to the Chicago Bulls. It was the second time in his career that he’s come off the bench.

Pro wrestling legend Ric Flair was clearly watching the game and proclaimed his fandom for LeBron, saying he will forever be the man and is the greatest.

Flair tagged Stephen A. Smith in his tweet, so it’s likely to try and get a reaction out of him as well. James has made a strong argument for being the greatest the sport has ever seen, though many still want to see what accomplishments he can rack up before retiring. It seems Flair has made his decision to pick James.

LeBron James Can Take A Big Step Forward This Season

Many believe that the only way that LeBron James can impact the GOAT conversation is by winning more rings. Even though that is mostly true, the larger legacy of his career cannot afford to miss the playoffs in consecutive seasons. In addition, he had an impeccable record of making the Finals in every playoff run he had been in since 2010 that ended in 2021.

If James can lead the Lakers to the Finals in a topsy-turvy Western Conference, it may be one of his best achievements. In a seven-game title series, anything can happen, and the Lakers do have a roster that could be hard to contain in the playoffs. If they get to the 6th seed and avoid the play-in tournament, they’ll be in a better position with extra rest days.

After the 2-10 start to the season that the team had, turning around their season with trades and injuries all over the roster could be one of the best stories in basketball. Though unlikely, many will be rooting for it to happen.
