Zach LaVine is one of the brightest stars for the Chicago Bulls today. The All-Star has been playing at a very high level over the last two seasons. And this year, with the right supporting cast around him, he has shown that he is more than capable of being the best player on a playoff contender.
LaVine and the Bulls’ performances have given the fans a lot of hope and joy for the rest of the season. Many fans expect them to make the playoffs this year and even mount a solid run. But these Bulls have a long way to go before they can be compared to some Bulls teams of the past.
In fact, Zach LaVine in particular has a long way to go to catch up to the Bulls’ most legendary shooting guard. LaVine scored 32 points for the Bulls in his first game back after entering the league’s health and safety protocols. It was his 65th 30+ point game for the Bulls.
StatMuse pointed out on Twitter that LaVine was still 472 games behind Michael Jordan for the most 30+ point games in Bulls history. Hilariously, LaVine responded to this post by acknowledging just how incredible Michael Jordan was, especially as the record itself suggests.

LaVine is highly unlikely to surpass Jordan in that statistic. But that doesn’t mean that he can’t be remembered as a great Bulls player. If he and the Bulls can eventually develop into an NBA championship team, they will be remembered very well, as the only Bulls team in NBA history to win an NBA championship without Michael Jordan.
LaVine has formed one of the most imposing duos in the NBA right now with DeMar DeRozan, and Kendrick Perkins has even called them the best duo in the NBA today. It will be interesting to see how the two scorers will be able to do with the Bulls this season.
