Zion Williamson Got His Own Custom Thanos Chain

2 Min Read

At just 20-years-old, Zion Williamson is already one of the NBA’s brightest young stars. Coming out of Duke, his hype level was akin to that of LeBron James when he was entering the league. While he still ha much to prove, Zion is set to become the face of pro-basketball, and his fame is all but guaranteed at this point.

Zion seems like a humble-enough kid and his personality is often why so many people root for him.

But after a recent picture of Zion got posted on social media, many pointed out a particularly interesting fashion choice that could signal state of mind as he enters the 2019-20 playoff race: a custom-made Thanos gauntlet chain hanging proudly around his neck.

For those that don’t know, Thanos was the main antagonist in the Avengers series. In the movies, he uses the gauntlet to harness incredible power, eventually going on to defeat the Avengers themselves before they go back time and thwart his plans. His strength is basically unmatched in the MCU, only surpassed by his confidence and the drive to accomplish his goals.

Zion’s gauntlet chain could just be a sign that he likes the Avengers, but it might also be a sign that he, too, feels strong, invincible, and driven like Thanos.

With just weeks to go until the continuation of the 2019-20 campaign, that’s the type of attitude the Pelicans are looking for from their star player. Of course, they are hoping it yields the desired results.
