When LeBron James and Dirk Nowitzki faced off against each other in the 2011 NBA Finals, a new rivalry between the two superstars developed. James and the Miami Heat Big 3 were awfully confident in winning the finals that they even mocked Dirk.

The move backfired, and it motivated Dirk to help the Dallas Mavericks make a comeback in the series and win the first ring of his career. The two stars sort of developed a beef and apparently it only got worse as time passed.

Fast forward to the 2019 NBA All-Star Game, which was Nowitzki’s last season in the league. It was an emotional night for fans because along with the Mavs legend, Dwyane Wade was also saying goodbye to the game.

Anyway, after the match wrapped up, Dirk was greeting and hugging players on the court. Naturally, James approached the German superstar and tried to talk to him. Well, Nowitzki gave LBJ a cold shoulder and completely ignored him.

Twitter page ‘The Hurry Up’ posted the video and gave it the perfect caption.

Once the video went viral, fans began commenting about the feud between the two stars.

Dirk spent a lot of time in the NBA. Throughout his career, the former Mavericks forward stayed away from any controversies and it is hard to believe that he did it on purpose. Although in the video it seems like he saw James and ignored him, the reality could be different.

Anyway, Nowitzki retired from the league in 2019 and currently works as a special advisor for the Dallas Mavericks.

On the other hand, LeBron is yet to show any major signs of slowing down and will be leading the Los Angeles Lakers in hopes of winning an NBA championship.

After an underwhelming performance last season, L.A. fans are hoping for some redemption in the 2021-22 NBA season. The franchise did a great job of constructing a roster and the Lakers are now one of the favorites to win it all.

The only question remains: Can LeBron James lead this newly formed team? Well, we will find that out over the next few months.
