It’s been exactly one year since Kobe Bryant left this world after a fatal helicopter crash killed him, his daughter Gianna and seven more people. A day hasn’t gone where the NBA world doesn’t remind him and plenty of homages were expected on the first anniversary of the tragic event.
Well, that isn’t going to happen, or at least not with the same intensity that people believed. The reason? Kobe’s family has asked the league and all their teams to prevent doing homages for the Los Angeles Lakers legend. Kobe left a mark on the game and the league will always try to do things to remember him and the great player he was.
However, this year it won’t be like that. Kobe’s family has been trying to mourn this loss in peace and even though they appreciate everything that fans and former teammates or rivals do, they don’t like to see teams going off with a tribute for Kobe, according to Jason Dumas of Kron4News.

Well, yesterday, the Cleveland Cavaliers did pay homage to Kobe before their game against the Los Angeles Lakers. It was a touching video of Kobe playing against them and some of the best players they’ve had in history like LeBron James and Kyrie Irving.

Perhaps some teams will respect the Bryant family’s request and will limit to send a little message on social media while others will do as the Cavs and show their love and respect for the Mamba in a great way.
