General managers continue to work overtime to get some deals done, and now that the Minnesota Timberwolves and Atlanta Hawks opened the gates with the Jeff Teague trade, we can expect more teams to follow along.

Moreover, there have been a couple of stories that are worth noticing over the course of this week, and today, we’re going to sum them up by talking about the league’s top 10 rumors right now:

The Perfect Trade: Ben Simmons For D’Angelo Russell

Fadeaway World

The Golden State Warriors are still wary about trading away D’Angelo Russell. However, they could let him go if they’re blown away by an offer that could land them another All-Star who’s also a better fit for their team.

At first glance, Ben Simmons checks all the boxes here and the Sixers would be better off with a guard that could score off the dribble and, you know, shoot. Like we reported earlier, this trade makes perfect sense for both parties.

In the case that the Sixers and Warriors don’t engage in trade talks for Russell and Simmons, the Timberwolves could still make a run at him, as they created a lot of flexibility by clearing a roster spot in the Jeff Teague trade.

Everybody knows the Timberwolves are in love with the idea of pairing Russell with Karl-Anthony Towns, who’s reportedly not happy with the franchise. So, according to Shams Charania; they will continue to aggressively pursue him.

Clippers Could Trade Lou Williams

(via Orange County Register)

Lou Williams has been on a roll all year long and the Los Angeles Clippers keep winning. However, ESPN’s Kevin Pelton reported that Doc Rivers may look to move him before the trade deadline as they look to acquire another two-way player.

Williams is almost a lock to win the Sixth Man of the Year again as he’s an instant offensive threat off the bench, but the Clippers are reportedly looking for someone that could also get stops in the defensive end.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are still firm on their pursuit for a spot in the playoffs. However, the San Antonio Spurs, Memphis Grizzlies, and Portland Trail Blazers are stepping on their toes and could take them out of the picture.

So, if the Thunder struggle to keep up this pace as we near the deadline, and like we reported earlier this week, they could move Chris Paul to the Bucks, Steven Adams to the Hawks, Danilo Gallinari to the Blazers, and Dennis Schroder to the Lakers. We’re not saying that’s going to happen, but claiming that these teams would be the best fit for them.

Kyrie Irving Takes A Shot At His Teammates

(via Bleacher Report)

It didn’t take long before Kyrie Irving went back at it, as he called out some of his teammates following back-to-back losses, by claiming the team needs to get more pieces that complement him and a handful of the players on their roster:

“Collectively, I feel like we have great pieces,” Irving said, via ESPN, “but it’s pretty glaring we need one more piece or two more pieces that will complement myself, KD [Kevin Durant], DJ [DeAndre Jordan], GT [Garrett Temple], Spence [Dinwiddie], Caris [LeVert], and we’ll see how that evolves.”

It will be very interesting what the Nets will do before the February deadline. They can land two young players but they must trade a few starters for them.

Stephen A. Smith Suggests Blockbuster Traded: Kuzma For Booker

Devin Booker

Kyle Kuzma has been rumored to be on the trade block lately, but the Lakers are reportedly giving teams ‘mixed signals’ about his availability. However, Stephen A. Smith claims they need a Maskman.

So, while he was at it, Smith suggested that the Lakers somehow put together a trade that could land them Devin Booker for Kyle Kuzma, but it is unlikely that the Suns would be interested in parting ways with their star.

Top 5 Best Destinations For Derrick Rose

(via Fadeaway World)

Derrick Rose has been playing at a high level since the start of the season and with the Detroit Pistons struggling to put together a playoff run, he’s likely to be dealt before the deadline.

And just like we reported before, Rose would be a perfect fit for the Lakers, Celtics, Bucks, Sixers or even Mavericks. For what it’s worth, he’s been posting the best numbers of his career (per 36) since his MVP season.
