More often than not, performing at the highest levels can also take a toll on the players’ ability to cope with stress and keep their temper during games.

Contents
  • Point Guard – Gary Payton (250)
  • Shooting Guard – Charles Barkley (329)
  • Small Forward – Dennis Rodman (212)
  • Power Forward – Rasheed Wallace (317)
  • Center – Karl Malone (332)

Obviously, some players make a name for themselves for being more outspoken than others, so referees don’t hesitate to give them technical fouls every time they open their mouths.

Therefore, you could even create a nice starting five if you took the top 5 guys with more technical fouls, so now, we’ll let you know about the All-NBA technical foul team:

Point Guard – Gary Payton (250)

Gary Payton was known for his playmaking ability, his aggressiveness when driving to the hoop, his top-tier defense, and his trash-talking, the aspect of his game that got him in a lot of troubles.

Payton wasn’t going to back down from a challenge, as he didn’t hesitate to get in everybody’s face, including the referees. That’s why he racked up 250 T’s throughout his career.

Shooting Guard – Charles Barkley (329)

If you never saw Charles Barkley play and want to know who was he like, just listen to his broadcasts and you’ll have the answer. He loved picking on people, and he wanted to bug everybody at all times.

Barkley talked smack to his rivals, his teammates, the fans, the referees, and whoever dared get in front of him on any given night. He was a bully on and off the court, and that’s one of the reasons why he was so hard to contain.

Small Forward – Dennis Rodman (212)

Dennis Rodman

Dennis Rodman is one of the most underrated players of all time. He was a top-tier defender that could lock down the best scorers in the world at will, but he’d also let everybody have a piece of his mind at all times.

Rodman earned 212 technicals throughout his career, but you lived by it. He was physical, dirty, and had a never-ending bag of tricks, but he couldn’t keep his mouth shut whenever a call didn’t go his way.

Power Forward – Rasheed Wallace (317)

Rasheed Wallace was one of the main reasons why the Detroit Pistons were able to hold his own in the NBA Finals. He was a tough player, and he made sure the rest of his teammates played along when he was traded there.

Wallace was strong, both physically and mentally, and he just wasn’t going to let anybody intimidate him. Notably, that got him in a lot of trouble with the referees, who gave him 317 technicals throughout his career.

Center – Karl Malone (332)

Karl Malone was one of the most unstoppable scorers ever. He was a dominant force down low in both sides of the hardwood, so opposing players often struggled to keep him in check when trying to guard him.

Still, Malone’s biggest enemy was himself and his big mouth. He racked up 332 techincal fouls over the course of his career as he just loved getting into the referees’ face and arguing every single call.
