The Boston Celtics won their 18th NBA championship tonight, and the basketball has been on fire, with both sides talking about their win. One person in particular who was thrilled to see the Celtics win was Paul Pierce. Pierce was part of the last Celtics championship team and was having a blast seeing his former team thriving.

Congratulations to the 23-24 NBA Champions My Boston Celtics

— Paul Pierce (@paulpierce34) June 18, 2024

Of course, Pierce is never one to shy away from sharing his true thoughts on social media, so he went on a spree of celebratory posts and stories across social media. He also mocked fans who tried to question or undermine the Celtics.

What can they say now ☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️☘️🥲🤪🤪🤪🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

He also brought back some 2008 Kevin Garnett vibes with this Instagram story.

“I’m so hyped right now. Anything is possible! On my mama!”

Pierce was not the only Massachusetts sports legend celebrating the Celtics’ win. NFL GOAT Tom Brady, who played most of his career with the New England Patriots, posted that another title was coming to Boston.

Another one in Boston ☘️

Former Celtics star Isaiah Thomas, who had the best run of his career with them, shared his joy and excitement over the Green and White securing the title.

They did that 🤝🏾

Mark Jackson, the legendary former head coach and player, congratulated the Celtics on their historic title win. He also gave his friend, Jeff Van Gundy, who is an assistant coach for the Celtics, a special shoutout.

Congrats to the Boston Celtics on Winning it All!

Former NBA champion Iman Shumpert actually slammed fans for calling the NBA Finals boring, and he praised the Boston Celtics for putting on a dominant performance in the series. He also gave special praise to Jrue Holiday for being one of the most efficient players on the court.

Mogs talkin bout this was boring…speak for yaself Boston just put on a show in a closer. Luka and Ky didn’t shoot it well for the highlights but how efficient has Jrue been? #nbafinals

Milwaukee Bucks star Patrick Beverley had an uncharacteristically measured response, just reacting to the Celtics winning the championship with one word.

Impressive

Former NBA champion Dwight Howard on the other hand, took the opportunity to remind fans that he was backing the Celtics from the start of the NBA Finals.

Howard also showed love to Jaylen Brown for winning Finals MVP. Brown, like Howard, is from Atlanta, and he wanted to show love to a fellow Atlanta ball player for his success.

Of course, one person who was not happy with the Celtics winning the title was Lakers legend Magic Johnson. Johnson shared his disappointment on X over the Celtics surpassing the Lakers in championships.

I hate that the Celtics officially have more championships than us now 🙄

— Earvin Magic Johnson (@MagicJohnson) June 18, 2024

However, Johnson also praised the Celtics organization, especially GM Brad Stevens for his move to bring Kristaps Porzingis to the franchise, calling an MVP move from the former head coach. He also shouted out the move to bring Jrue Holiday to the Celtics.

Celtics GM Brad Stevens trading for Jru Holiday and Kristaps Prozingis was an MVP move that made the Celtics the best team in basketball this year! Adding Holiday made them the perimeter defending team in the league, and adding Prozingis made them the most explosive offensive and…

— Earvin Magic Johnson (@MagicJohnson) June 18, 2024

Despite his disappointment, Johnson was nothing but the class act he always has been, as he congratulated the Celtics organization, the owners, the front office, coaching staff, and the players for winning the NBA championship.

Congratulations to the Boston Celtics Majority Owner Wyc Grousbeck, Coach Joe Mazzulla, their three leaders Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, Jrue Holiday, and the rest of the team for winning the NBA Championship!

The NBA world is still buzzing about the Celtics winning the NBA championship. We saw how NBA fans reacted to the title win from the Celtics, and unsurprisingly, it was very polarizing.

Congratulations once again, to the Boston Celtics, your 2024 NBA Champions!
