In a scathing critique of the Los Angeles Clippers’ decision to relocate to Inglewood, rapper and actor Ice Cube minced no words during an appearance on the ‘All The Smoke’ podcast. When asked about his thoughts on the Clippers moving to their new arena, the Intuit Dome, in Inglewood, Ice Cube delivered a blistering response that left no doubt about his feelings.

“Who? Who? They should just, as they go down to Inglewood, keep going. Hit that 405. Get back to San Diego. Take the Chargers with you. Take the Chargers with you. Y’all messing up Inglewood up man. Inglewood used to be a nice place.”

With a tone dripping in sarcasm, Ice Cube began his verbal assault by rhetorically asking, “Who? Who?” This dismissive opening set the stage for what would be a merciless takedown of the Clippers’ relocation plans.

Ice Cube didn’t stop there, suggesting that the Clippers should continue moving down the freeway until they hit the 405, a major highway in Southern California. His tongue-in-cheek recommendation to “get back to San Diego” was a clear jab at the team’s previous stint in San Diego before relocating to Los Angeles in 1984.

But Ice Cube didn’t reserve his criticism solely for the Clippers. He also took aim at the Los Angeles Chargers, an NFL team that relocated from San Diego to Los Angeles in 2017. By suggesting that the Chargers should join the Clippers on their journey back to San Diego, Ice Cube delivered a double blow to both franchises.

In his closing remarks, Ice Cube lamented the impact of the Clippers’ move on Inglewood, a historically significant neighborhood in Los Angeles. He expressed his disapproval of the transformation brought about by the team’s presence, implying that the move had disrupted the character of the community.

Ice Cube’s comments on the podcast resonated with fans and garnered significant attention on social media. His unapologetic criticism of the Clippers’ relocation plans served as a reminder of the deep-rooted connections between sports teams and the communities they inhabit.

As the Los Angeles Clippers prepare to make Inglewood their new home, Ice Cube’s scathing remarks serve as a poignant commentary on the broader implications of sports franchise relocations and their impact on local communities.
