LeBron James is known for his pregame rituals and handshakes with every player on the Los Angeles Lakers squad, creating a unique connection with each teammate. Before the game against the Charlotte Hornets, LeBron went through his customary handshakes with various players, but one with Max Christie stood out.

That handshake he has with Max Christie got me crying β€œSliiimmeeeee” 🀣🀣 pic.twitter.com/G0Q4rH8HVl

First in line was Jaxson Hayes, and their handshake concluded with a playful tap on the head. Next up was Max Christie, and their interaction was described as special, with LeBron yelling “slimeee” at the end of their handshake. Following that was Austin Reaves, with LeBron shouting “AR” during their handshake, and finally, Rui Hachimura received a bow from LeBron as part of their ritual.

This pregame routine showcases LeBron’s camaraderie and personal connection with each teammate, fostering a positive and inclusive team environment.

In the game against the struggling Charlotte Hornets, LeBron James, just two days away from his 39th birthday, demonstrated his enduring excellence by contributing 17 points and 11 assists. Anthony Davis played a significant role, adding 26 points and eight rebounds. The Lakers secured a convincing 133-112 victory, marking a rare blowout win for a team that has faced challenges in close games throughout the season.

The Lakers’ offensive performance was particularly impressive in the third quarter, where they outscored the Hornets by 41 points. LeBron’s playmaking abilities were evident as he led the team to a season-high 41 assists.

The win was only the third in nine games for the Lakers since their victory in the NBA’s inaugural In-Season Tournament. Despite the challenges faced this season, the Lakers showcased their potential when playing cohesive and efficient basketball.

For the Charlotte Hornets, the loss extended their losing streak to nine games, making it their longest skid since late 2014. The Lakers will continue their road trip with a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, while the Hornets face the Phoenix Suns in the coming days.

LeBron James Is Beating Father Time

As LeBron James approaches his 39th birthday, he continues to defy the limitations of time and showcase a level of performance that is nothing short of extraordinary. With impressive statistics of 25.1 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game, LeBron is not just maintaining, but excelling at an MVP level this season.

His shooting percentages are equally remarkable, with a field goal percentage of 53.9% and a three-point shooting percentage of 41.3%. These numbers reflect not only his scoring prowess but also his efficiency on the court. LeBron’s ability to contribute across multiple facets of the game, from scoring to playmaking and rebounding, solidifies his impact on the Los Angeles Lakers.

What makes LeBron’s performance even more exceptional is his consistency and longevity in the league. While many players experience a decline in their skills as they age, LeBron seems to be an exception, continuing to dominate the game well into his 30s.

LeBron’s dedication to maintaining his body and staying in peak physical condition is widely known, and it’s a testament to his commitment to the sport and his craft. His work ethic, combined with his basketball IQ, has allowed him to adapt his playing style as he ages, ensuring that he remains a force to be reckoned with on the court.

As fans and analysts marvel at LeBron’s ability to beat Father Time, it’s clear that he is not just an athlete; he’s a basketball anomaly, rewriting the narrative of what is possible for a player in the later stages of their career. With no signs of slowing down, LeBron James continues to leave an indelible mark on the NBA and cement his legacy as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport.
