James Johnson is certainly not someone you want to mess with, and a player on the Miami Heat found that out the hard way. On The OGs Show, Udonis Haslem revealed that Johnson once fought a teammate who called him a b****.
“I ain’t gonna say no name, but somebody on our team called JJ a b****,” Haslem stated. “JJ said, ‘Hey, you gotta see me after practice.’ (and) everybody said, ‘Oh s***.'”
Adebayo stated that he told Johnson to not beat up the player, only to be told to stay out of it. Haslem wildly revealed that the Heat locker room is like the Hunger Games and that players had to sort out their differences right away. So, the fight took place and it was not a pretty sight.
“I watched that s***,” Adebayo said. “The funniest part about it, dog, JJ end up balling, I’m talking about beating this man up… JJ got done he said, ‘You aight?’ And then walked out. This man crying, sniveling.”

Haslem revealed the two hugged it out later and stated that’s how things go down in Miami. I do wonder what led to that player using that word on someone like Johnson. You’re talking about a man who has a black belt in karate and who claims to have fought in MMA, so the last thing anyone would want to do is get on his bad side.
Adebayo hilariously revealed that he found out he should never mess with Johnson after seeing him dislodge a Wedgie. The 26-year-old stated that Johnson managed to kick that ball which was at the rim and then land on his feet, which left him stunned.
As for who that teammate might have been, it’s hard to even speculate. Adebayo, Haslem, and Johnson were teammates from 2017 to 2020, so there are a fair few players to pick from. Whatever the case, their differences were settled right there and everyone just moved on after that.
James Johnson Believes He Can Beat Jon Jones If He Trains For A Year
Johnson holds his fighting skills in very high regard, so much so that he made quite an interesting claim earlier this year. In September, Johnson said he could beat UFC champion Jon Jones with one year of training.
“I think I could beat him, for real,” Johnson said. “But like I said, with a year of training defense. I just need ground defense.”
Johnson then explained why he believes he can beat Jones.
“Yeah, and the opposite is, he started learning how to use your hands and your feet – what? – After college? Like, I’ve been punching and kicking since I was five, six years old,” Jones continued. “So the same thing for me is the opposite for him because he’s been wrestling for that long. Learning all his wrestling moves and things like that for so long.”
The 36-year-old stated that as long as he could keep Jones on the floor, he’d win. That’s a lot easier said than done, though. Considering Jones has only ever lost one MMA bout (by disqualification), I’d say that is one fight I wouldn’t fancy Johnson to win.
Any training plans that Johnson might have had would have now been put on hold anyway. He re-signed with the Indiana Pacers on December 15 and is now playing in his 15th season in the NBA.
