Chris Paul Calls Scott Foster A B*tch After Being Ejected From Warriors vs. Suns

Chris Paul was ejected from the Warriors game against the Suns and proceeded to call referee Scott Foster a b*tch.

Chris Paul has been sent packing from the Warriors vs. Suns matchup after receiving two technical fouls. The referee in charge is Scott Foster, a man who has a dubious track record while refereeing games CP3 is playing in. Naturally, Paul lashed out after his ejection and called Foster a b*tch on his way out.

“You’re a b*tch.”

Paul was having a good game, having tallied six points and six assists through 16 minutes of action on the court. Unfortunately, the Warriors were down 12 when CP3 was sent out and the team is now down by 20 points a few minutes into the third quarter.

Klay Thompson has continued his strong being of form and has already scored 17 points, though Stephen Curry is having a slow start and has 12 points on less than 50% shooting. The Suns star duo are absolutely feasting on the Warriors, with Kevin Durant having notched 23 points and Devin Booker sitting on 16 points with six assists.

The lack of Draymond Green is hurting the Warriors badly, as they could’ve used his high IQ defensive play to contain the Suns’ free-scoring selves. We just saw Curry explode in the fourth quarter to break the Warriors’ six-game losing streak, so the Warriors will hope to keep it close enough going into the fourth quarter that they stand no chance.

Chris Paul Went 9 Years Without Winning A Game Officiated By Scott Foster

Foster and Paul don’t have the typical NBA player-and-referee relationship. There has been clear bad blood and animosity between the pair for years, and it has resulted in a very odd statistic for Paul over his career. From 2014 to 2023, Paul’s team never won a game in which Scott Foster was the lead official. These games have also included bits of tension between Paul and Foster, but today was the most outward display of rage between the two.

The streak began with a loss that Paul’s LA Clippers faced at the hands of the OKC Thunder in 2014. It ended when Paul’s Phoenix Suns beat the Clippers in Game 2 of the 2023 Playoffs. Funnily, the Clippers were involved in both instances and now the Suns are involved in Paul’s latest issue with Foster.

There likely will be fiery postgame comments from Paul about Foster, which we may see Foster respond to. The league may put a punishment down on Paul for talking the way he did to a referee, though that’ll be wholly unnecessary. Additionally, it’ll just bring a negative spotlight to why one of the most respected NBA referees has such a questionable record while officiating a specific player. The rate of coincidence will be too high, especially with Paul being on contending teams throughout his nine-year winless run against Foster.
