Many parents in this world want their children to follow in their footsteps and achieve all the same successes that they have. This is especially true for athletes, with quite a few sons and daughters of former players playing in the NBA and WNBA today.

Stephen Curry has three children, his eldest daughter Riley just turned 11 years old, he has another daughter named Ryan, who is eight, and his young son Canon is five. And he recently spoke candidly about whether any of them will play basketball when they grow up.

“I, well my oldest, I have two girls that are 11 and 8, and a younger son who is 5,” Curry said. “My oldest is a volleyball player, she’s taken after her grandma and every woman in my family who’s played volleyball. Little daughter, dancer, she’s kind of the artist of the family. So I’m kind of zero for two on that one already…

“And the 5-year-old, we’ll see what he wants to be. I don’t know, basketball, golf, baseball, whatever it is. I don’t know. But the biggest thing is whatever they decide to do, it’s just full support.”

Stephen Curry is the greatest shooter in NBA history. So the type of curiosity people have about whether his children will follow in his footsteps is understandable. They are too young to say for sure, although Riley Curry does seem to have chosen a different sport already. Whatever happens, Steph and his wife, Ayesha, will surely make sure that their children have everything they need to pursue their dreams.

Stephen Curry’s Son Canon Has Already Been Spotted Copying His Celebrations

Stephen Curry’s legacy will be one that his son will find hard to top, and that might be too much pressure for the kid as well. Bronny and Bryce James are good examples of being able to live with the pressure, though, and it seems that Steph’s son wants to emulate his father just as much. He was seen copying his dad’s ‘Night-Night’ celebration last year

Canon Curry has at least 14 years to go before he is eligible for the draft, though, so we’ll be waiting a long time to find out if he has what it takes to follow his father. The fact that Steph and his brother followed their dad, though, means that Canon Curry might end up lighting defenses up in the NBA in about 18 years from now.
