The 2023 No. 1 overall pick Victor Wembanyama caught heat on social media prior to making his NBA Summer League debut. The San Antonio Spurs star’s security backhanded singer Britney Spears.

The news spread like wildfire, and Wembanyama is yet to apologize for his security’s actions. Amidst the incident, a video of Spears hooping in 2017 went viral.

In the video, Spears made three shots without missing and also showed her passing skills. Spears was hooping with a friend. Anyway, the pop star recently sent a subtle message on Instagram to Wembanyama.

“Funny people see me dancing a lot… In school I didn’t dance or cheerlead… I was a point guard!!! I called all the plays and I was fast as hell cause I was like a mouse… I couldn’t shoot as well as I handled the ball!!! The rush of the game, the unknown… no set ups… the trick… the fakes… the ball… baby can f*****g play!!!”

Britney Spears posted a clip of popular 3rd grader Kason Angert. Angert is expected to headline the class of 2032.

The timing of Spears’ Instagram post about basketball and her altercation with Wembanyama is simply no coincidence.

The Britney Spears Incident Was A Welcome To America Moment For Victor Wembanyama

Victor Wembanyama is just 19 years old and is yet to play his first game in the NBA. But he has already got caught up in controversy.

A video of the incident was obtained by TMZ, and it clearly shows how Spears was backhanded in the face by a member of Wembanyama’s security.

But instead of dwelling about it, Wembanyama’s agent claims it was a ‘Welcome to America’ moment for his client.

“The Britney Spears [incident] was a very good ‘Welcome [to] America’ moment,” Bouna Ndiaye said. “Small in a sense, but big in a sense. That was nothing. But there was so much noise for nothing and it turned into something … He was just walking. He didn’t do anything. But it shows you in America, everything is much bigger than anywhere else in the world.”

As of now, the only good news for Wembanyama’s security is that the bodyguard will not be charged for actions. The incident should serve as an excellent learning lesson for Wembanyama and hopefully, he stays away from controversies for the rest of his career.
