The Toronto Raptors haven’t competed atop the NBA since losing Kawhi Leonard in the summer of 2019 but they still have a lot of the pieces that made them champions still on the roster. Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby are two such players.

Marc Stein has revealed that Anunoby will be parting ways with Klutch Sports and agent Rich Paul with one year left on his contract as Anunoby has been in trade rumors for the last six months.

“OG Anunoby has left Rich Paul and Klutch Sports and will soon choose a new agent as he enters the final season of his current contract with the Toronto Raptors. Anunoby has been the subject of trade rumors over the past year, but the Raptors have resisted very competitive offers. Anunoby’s original agent, Omar Wilkes, left Klutch earlier this year for a position with Fanatics.”

Rich Paul is one of the biggest agents in the NBA and has clients like Anthony Davis, Draymond Green, Zach LaVine, Dejounte Murray, De’Aaron Fox, and more. His biggest client is his childhood friend, LeBron James, who many credit for helping Paul become the superagent he’s known as today.

Where Does OG Anunoby End Up?

With Anunoby being on an expiring contract this season, Masai Ujiri has a very tough decision to make regarding his future. It seems it may be time for a youth movement in Toronto, under rookie head coach Darko Rajakovic. Instead of losing Anunoby for nothing next free agency, the Raptors can get good assets for a wing defender with the kind of value that Anunoby has. The team has expressed a desire to keep OG on the squad.

He averaged 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1,9 steals last season and was named to All-Defensive Second Team after leading the league in steals.

The Raptors have previously turned down big offers for him, but it’s unlikely that any team offers Toronto multiple future draft assets for a player making $18.6 million who is expected to opt out of his $19.9 player option as he can get a bigger contract in free agency. It seems the sooner Toronto trades Anunoby, the likelier they get a bigger haul.
