Brooklyn Nets star forward Mikal Bridges recently tried to shoot his shot with WNBA star A’ja Wilson. Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces have been nothing but dominant this season.

They currently boast a 12-1 record in the first 13 games of the season. Bridges tried his luck with Wilson by asking for details about her next game on Twitter.

“When’s the next game??? @_ajawilson22,” Bridges tweeted.

Whens the next game ??? @_ajawilson22

The 26-year-old gave a cold rejection to the Nets forward. She requested to be left alone.

“Please leave me alone, we cool over here,” Wilson responded.

A dejected Bridges then responded that he’ll just Google the details about Wilson’s next WNBA game.

“I’ll just go on Google,” he tweeted.

Ill just go on google https://t.co/eVx9vSlbzs

The interaction between the two players evidently went viral on Twitter. So much so that Bleacher Report tweeted about her ‘cold’ rejection. A’ja was worried about weird guys crowding her mentions following her viral rejection.

“Lmaooo ahh hell, these weird guys about to be in my mentions,” the 26-year-old tweeted.

Wilson has been dominating both on and off the court this year. She’s currently averaging 19.3 PPG, 9.4 RPG, 2.1 APG, 1.2 SPG, and 2.2 BPG this season. Wilson was also named the WNBA All-Star captain for the second-consecutive season.

The two-time WNBA MVP is currently focused on helping the Aces win another championship after leading the team to a title in 2022.

Brooklyn Nets Are Focused On Building Around Mikal Bridges

The Brooklyn Nets finally broke up the duo of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving last season. Irving was traded to the Dallas Mavericks, while Durant was sent to the Phoenix Suns.

The Nets received a trade package centered around Mikal Bridges in exchange for Kevin Durant. Bridges impressed fans by putting up 26.1 PPG, 4.5 RPG, and 2.7 APG over 27 games for the Nets.

He has impressed the organization in less than 30 games. In fact, the Nets are reportedly interested in building around Bridges.

“Mikal Bridges is a guy they’re going to build around… The kind of offers the Nets have gotten for him speaks to how valuable he is, a player, I think for Brooklyn, they keep in place for the next big star that’s available in a trade.”

The Nets ended the 2022-23 NBA season as the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 45-37 record. They were swept in the 2023 playoffs by the Philadelphia 76ers.
