NBA fans were all for Kyle Kuzma reuniting with the Los Angeles Lakers after he declined his player option and became a free agent.

Twitter was flooded with messages of Kuzma to the Lakers, while some ambitious fans hoped that he and Kyrie Irving would make the roster ahead of the 2023-24 season. Here are some of the responses soon after the development:

One of the fans wanted Kuzma and Irving as Lakers.

Some thought the Jazz would be an option.

Warriors fans weren’t far behind. But they did have some choice words for the Wizards.

Wizards the goofiest organization in the NBA. Warriors should be going hard for Kuzma/Porzingis https://t.co/lT78dHJtQd

The Wizards apparently saw it coming.

Earlier, Kuzma hinted that he would look to take his talents elsewhere. “I’m trying to get better every year,” Kuzma said in April (via ESPN).

“It’s not about money, I’m going to get paid regardless anywhere [I go] and here, too. It’s about whether can I come to work every day and be the best version of myself, can I help lead guys, can I make other players better, can I light up rooms. All those things matter when you’re trying to be successful.”

Now that he has declined his $13 million player option, he will have no shortage of suitors.

Kyle Kuzma Could Reunite With The Lakers

While Lakers faithful want Kuzma back in LA, chances of that happening are not entirely ruled out.

According to Jake Weinbach, Kuzma was expected to decline his player option and see what the market had in store, including a Lakers reunion.

“Kyle Kuzma is expected to decline his $13.0 million player option with the Wizards and become an unrestricted free agent this offseason. Potential suitors for Kuzma could include the Pacers, Rockets, Spurs, Kings, and Jazz. A reunion with the Lakers is also a looming possibility.”

It would be a perfect homecoming for Kuzma if the Lakers indeed manage to land him. But for now, it will surely be a race to land the forward.
