Pro Football Hall of Famer and now-analyst Shannon Sharpe is taking his talents to Fox Sports. And that has sparked a tizzy on social media as to why he is leaving Skip Bayless and Undisputed after a seven-year run. His final show is expected to be after the NBA Finals.
One fan, in particular, shared a clip of Sharpe and Bayless having a heated debate involving Tom Brady earlier, opining that it was that moment that led Sharpe to decide that he no longer wanted to be part of Bayless and his show.
Last season, Bayless and Sharpe got into it when the Super Bowl champion talked about Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccanneers’ poor showing.
“Brady‘s still playing at a high level at 45 when you had to stop at 35, that’s the point!” Bayless exclaimed, to which Sharpe appeared to lose it fully.
“That’s what you do,” Sharpe retorted. “Every time I call something into question, I’m jealous. Skip, I did what I did. You make it seem like I was a bum! I’m in the effing Hall of Fame. I’ve got three Super Bowls. … See what you do, you take personal shots. … You’re willing to take a personal shot at me to say this man is better than me because I say he’s playing badly this year? …You would disrespect me to support him!” Sharpe exploded.

Bayless and Sharpe have had their verbal spars over the years, and the Damar Hamlin incident was one of the other instances when they were squabbling live. Sharpe did not appear on Undisputed the day after Hamlin’s cardiac arrest.

While Sharpe’s reason for leaving the show is unknown, speculations are rife that his tension and friction with Bayless have been one of the main reasons.
