After the Nuggets made their first Finals trip in NBA history, the team was rewarded with an extended break as we await for the conclusion of the Eastern Conference Finals. But instead of basking in his latest playoff victory, 2x MVP Nikola Jokic didn’t feel much of anything at all.

In fact, as he explained to the media this week, winning the West wasn’t as satisfying as he thought it would be, and making the Finals has seemingly only pushed him further to close the deal and come out as a champion.

“The win was nice but like half an hour after that we were just okay,” said the Joker. “I thought it was gonna be a much bigger feeling, to be honest.”

Despite the Nuggets having made franchise history, Jokic isn’t satisfied with stopping here. He wants to win a title, and he’s doing everything he can to make sure his team is prepared against their next opponent.

Is Nikola Jokic The Best Player in The World?

With the Nuggets having finally proved themselves in the playoffs, nobody can deny that Nikola Jokic is a true superstar. If he’s not dominating in the post, then he’s dominating in the passing lanes with crazy dimes to open teammates.

In these playoffs, he’s been at his absolute best with great performances for almost every single game.

“If Jokic is able to win a championship this year and continue the numbers he’s putting up,” said Richard Jefferson. “It will be one, two, or three greatest runs we have ever seen. He’s averaging a 30-point triple-double right now. He’s beaten KD, he’s beaten the Lakers. If they win their first championship, show me another run from start to finish.”

This is obviously a huge moment for the Nuggets and you can bet they are not taking it for granted. Still, the job is not done, and the focus in Denver right now is on winning four more games to seal the deal for good.
