“Shared A Link To A Movie On Amazon Prime vs. Beat Up A 17-Year-Old Kid” – NBA Fan Calls Out Nike For Their Double Standards On Kyrie Irving And Ja Morant

Ja Morant just keeps finding ways to get himself in trouble. The 2022-23 campaign was one full of controversies for Ja and it didn’t take long into his offseason for him to find himself in hot water.

Ja once again flashed a gun on Instagram Live, having done so back in March earlier this year as well. With Ja being involved in yet another controversy, an NBA fan called out Nike for their double standards on Ja and Kyrie Irving.

Nike, of course, parted ways with Irving after he shared a link to a movie that has been described as antisemitic. The fact that the sneaker brand hasn’t gone that route with Morant after all of his controversies, like the one where he allegedly hit a 17-year-old, has upset some people, like this fan. After the first gun incident, Nike released a statement in support of Ja after he stated he took full responsibility for his actions and claimed he was working on better methods to deal with stress.

A Sports Business Expert Predicts Nike Will At Least Pause The Relationship

Following this latest incident, it sure doesn’t seem like Morant has learned his lesson. Sports business reporter Darren Rovell believes that this time, Nike will at least pause its relationship with the guard.

“I expect Nike to at least pause its relationship with Ja Morant by tomorrow.”

At this point, it is hard to see how Nike doesn’t take some sort of action. It would be bad enough if it was just these two incidents by themselves, but Morant has been involved in so many controversies at this point that it would be a very bad look if they don’t do anything.

The NBA seems to be taking this very seriously, as Ja is potentially facing a lengthy suspension. Rival executives in the league want him suspended for half a season or more and former Memphis Grizzlies player Chandler Parsons wants Morant gone for the whole 2023-24 season.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely.
