Kevon Looney was on the hot seat in Game 5 after hitting Anthony Davis in the head during a Game 5 matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors.

The contact by Looney on Davis didn’t seem intentional at first sight, but a Lakers fan o Twitter seems to think otherwise. The fan posted another angle of the incident and believes Looney intentionally swung his arm toward Anthony Davis.

“Kevon Looney is not making a play for the ball in any way. What exactly is he trying to accomplish swinging his arm like that?”

Players who live in the paint are always expected to withstand physical contact from opponents. But that doesn’t mean they do not run the risk of getting injured.

From this angle, it definitely looks like Looney could have refrained from swinging his arm in Davis’ direction. Fortunately for the Lakers, Davis avoided a concussion despite being escorted from the arena in a wheelchair.

Anthony Davis Is Expected To Play In Game 6

Before getting injured, Davis had 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists to his name. He is obviously an important player for the Purple and Gold.

There was a huge concern that AD may be sidelined for the crucial Game 6 of the series. Thankfully, Davis is expected to feature in it, barring a setback.

“Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis (head injury) is expected to be available for Game 6 on Friday barring a setback, league sources tell.”

So far, Davis has averaged 22.4 PPG, 13.4 RPG, 3.4 APG, 1.4 SPG, and 2.2 BPG in the series. The Lakers rely on the Unibrow for being the defensive anchor of the team.

Sure, the Lakers also have LeBron James on the roster, but he’s focusing on fulfilling the playmaking duties for the team rather than focusing on scoring. Keeping that in mind, how Davis plays in Game 6 will have a huge impact on the outcome of the matchup.
