The New York Knicks are a team that is currently the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference, and they are a lock for the playoffs this season. Not many expected them to be this good at the start of the season, but it is clear that the Knicks didn’t care about people’s expectations for them and simply focused on playing good basketball.

After the team made the playoffs this year, Jalen Brunson had a message for his team. He admitted that it was “great” to get to the postseason but sternly said that the team still has “work to do.”

“It’s a great feeling, it’s something you strive for. You want a chance to compete. The fact that we get to further on our season is great. But we still have a lot of work to do.”

The New York Knicks have found success by focusing on the defensive end and rebounding. However, Jalen Brunson’s offensive prowess has helped as well, and he’ll need to be at his best for the Knicks to get far in the playoffs.

Jalen Brunson is averaging 24.0 PPG, 3.5 RPG, and 6.2 APG for the New York Knicks this season. He is an All-Star-level player despite not being selected for the team this year, and hopefully, he can lead the Knicks to a series win.

Losing Jalen Brunson Had A Bad Effect On The Mavericks

The New York Knicks are definitely benefitting from the addition of Jalen Brunson, and it is clear that they knew what sort of player they got when they signed him in free agency. The Dallas Mavericks, however, have struggled after Brunson’s departure, and Jamal Crawford recently explained why all the team’s problems started with them letting him go.

“The Mavericks’ problems started in the summer. When Jalen Brunson left, that team lost their identity. He was somebody that Luka respected. He’s also somebody who could get it done and play with him as well. When they lost him, they kinda lost their way,” Crawford said.

There is no doubt that Jalen Brunson is a fantastic offensive player that impacts every aspect of the game on that end of the floor. The Dallas Mavericks likely regret letting him go, as they might end up missing the playoffs this season. The difference in the kind of seasons both teams had just shows how valuable Jalen Brunson is, and he can get even better in the future.
