Draymond Green suggested that he saved himself from ponying up $50,000 by missing his game-winning shot against the Milwaukee Bucks.
“Obviously it put us in a position to almost win the game; I smoked it,” Green said after the game. “But we [were] able to figure it out in overtime.”
“I thought [the shot] was cash. Probably saved me $50,000, though, because the dance I was going to do when that ball went in. So, I’m happy we still got a win and I get to keep my money in my pocket.”

To set the context, Green attempted a 3-pointer with one second remaining in the fourth quarter, and the score tied at 111 apiece. As the buzzer blared, the ball hit the rim and clattered off. The forward revealed that he would have pulled a Sam Cassell if he did indeed drain the shot.
“Sam I Am, all the way down the court. I was going for it,” Green added. “And it bounced out. I can’t waste my money now. But I was going to waste it then, and I was going to get every penny’s worth. But unfortunately, it rolled out.”
Green may have botched the three, but Stephen Curry’s clutch heroics helped the Golden State Warriors notch up a 125-116 overtime win over the Bucks.
Draymond Green Predicted To Join The Los Angeles Lakers This Summer
The rumor mills are churning as the offseason approaches, and when it comes to Draymond Green, the buzz is that he would join the Los Angeles Lakers this summer.
The veteran has been a vital cog in the Warriors’ run winning four titles with the side in their six finals appearances.
According to Dan Favale of Bleacher Report, Green as a free agent could find a new home in the summer. “Green just turned 33. Ditto for Klay Thompson, who will be entering the final year of his deal next season,” he explained.
“Steph turns 35 on March 14. The Warriors have also already recommitted to Poole and Andrew Wiggins. They might be flush, but are they flush enough to carry $24-plus million salaries for five players?”
Green has been previously linked to the Lakers, and his friendship with LeBron James has been one of the reasons behind the criticism he’s received from Warriors fans.
For now, he does appear to be focused on helping the Warriors defend their title, but there’s no telling what’s in store for Green in the future.
