The Los Angeles Lakers keep adding players to the 2023-24 roster, and after being one of the winners of the first day of free agency, the Purple and Gold aren’t done.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the 17-time NBA champions are bringing Jaxson Hayes in on a two-year deal.

“Free agent center Jaxson Hayes has agreed to a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers, sources tell ESPN.”

Entering the NBA, Hayes was considered a very solid prospect. However, his career hasn’t panned out as expected, and the player has been more famous for his off-court incidents that the impact he had on New Orleans Pelicans.

Perhaps a change of air is what he needs to try to revitalize his career and show that he can be impactful for a lot of teams in the league. Hayes is ready to prove his value on the Lakers and help LeBron James and Anthony Davis compete for another championship.

The Lakers’ frontcourt has lacked depth in the past couple of years, and adding Hayes is a good option for them. In 47 games last season, Hayes averaged 5.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 0.7 assists per outing.

Los Angeles Lakers Are Having An Entertaining Free Agency

The Los Angeles Lakers are on a tear this offseason, landing some interesting names that can take their game to the next level. It all started with Taurean Prince, then Gabe Vincent followed through. Rui Hachimura re-signed with them before Cam Redish joined the team.

Now, Hayes is joining this squad with hopes to help it improve the results it got in 2023. This is a big pick for the Lakers, who keep adding interesting pieces to the roster.
