Stephen Curry has been the heart and soul of the Golden State Warriors for more than a decade now. He has led the Warriors to four NBA Championships in six trips to the NBA Finals. But what if when Curry is sidelined?
Of course, filling in the shoes of Stephen Curry is not a small task. However, Jordan Poole seems eager to take up that job. Poole even recently revealed to Mark Medina of the NBA that he likes the challenge to play on the Warriors without Curry.
“He’s one of the greatest basketball players to play our game,” Poole said. “So, coverages and game plans are different when he’s on the court. It’s awesome to be out there with him and see what it’s like to play off of him, learn and ask him questions. But it’s also a really fun challenge to play without him and try to lead a team at the highest level. I embrace everything. All the obstacles and challenges are really exciting and fun. I just enjoy playing the game and being able to make an impact on the game and try to win.”
But at the same time, Poole needs to be ready to step up when the Warriors need him in the absence of the said veterans. Fortunately, it feels like JP is ready to do that job, as he mentioned in his answer.
Is This Season The Warriors’ Last Dance?
The Golden State Warriors are the defending champions of the NBA and have been one of the most consistent teams in the league over the last decade or so. But every good thing has to end one day, and as per Warriors insider Monte Poole, the 2022-23 NBA season could be the beginning of the end for the Dubs.
The primary reason behind this assessment is the looming departure of Warriors general manager Bob Myers.
Myers hasn’t signed a contract extension with the Warriors yet, and he is in the final few months of his current contract. Myers’ exit from the Warriors could lead to the entire dynasty falling apart.
