The Brooklyn Nets did great business before the 2023 NBA trade deadline struck, sending both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving to the Western Conference and getting a big return for their stellar duo.

This was unthinkable at the start of the season, but as things unfolded for the Nets, the picture was clearer for them. The controversies with Kyrie led to the player being moved to the Dallas Mavericks and Irving taking big shots at them for ‘disrespecting’ him during his stint.

As for KD, it looked like Kyrie’s exit opened the door for Durant’s, with the Nets completing a blockbuster deal with the Phoenix Suns, sending him and TJ Warren to Phoenix in exchange for Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, Cameron Johnson, and four first-round picks.

Joe Harris Seems Happy After Kevin Durant And Kyrie Irving Left Brooklyn Nets

With these two on the roster, the Nets lived through too much drama, especially with Kyrie and his refusal to take the COVID-19 vaccine and then the controversial tweet sharing an antisemite movie. Things appear to be going well for the Nets hours after these two left the team, and the vibe inside the locker room has changed, according to Joe Harris.

The sharpshooter recently talked about the environment in the locker room, saying that the energy feels better now as everybody is trying to play the game the way it’s supposed to be played.

Joe Harris compares the current Nets squad to the pre-Kevin Durant/Kyrie Irving Nets: "The energy around the group feels like when we had those development years… There's just good energy around the team, everyone's trying to play the right way."

“The energy around the group feels like when we had those development years… There’s just good energy around the team, everyone’s trying to play the right way.”

Harris, who was heavily linked with trade rumors for the past two seasons or so, remains with the team, while the two players that were expected to lead the squad to the championship are now gone, trying to win another title on their own. This started as a fairy tale and turned out to be a horror movie. Hopefully, now things can go back to normal for everybody.
