LeBron James Could Be No. 1 All-Time In Points, No. 4 All-Time In Assists, And No. 8 All-Time In Steals By The End Of The Season

LeBron James is on the path of making massive inroads into many all-time scoring lists this season, along with being No. 1 in scoring.

LeBron James is knocking on so many doors to secure his all-time status that it has become mindblowing to see his longevity finally pay off in terms of total stats. When a player joins the league, the expectation is to become a title winner or an MVP, or any of the awards and honors that recognize your contribution to the game. But what do you do when all of that has already been achieved? Smash some records.

LeBron James is in his 20th season at the age of 38 and has won titles (though he’d like to win more), MVPs, made All-NBA teams, All-Star teams, and done almost everything in the sport. All that is left for him to do is climb up the ladders to set all-time records. Everyone knows LBJ is about to become the all-time leading scorer in NBA history this season if he stays healthy and can cross Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

The points tally isn’t the only list where he’s rapidly climbing up. James is also looking to climb up to 4th in all-time assists and 8th in steals. As of this moment, he is second in scoring, 6th in assists, and 9th in steals.

By the end of the season LeBron James could be No. 1 all-time in points, No. 4 all-time in assists and No. 8 all-time in steals.

LeBron has shown incredible longevity in the sport, something we hadn’t seen before. Kareem was a great example of longevity but he was barely even averaging 15 points at the tail-end of his career, as compared to LeBron who’s been on a scoring tear since turning 38. Fans have been hailing the legend for his incredible career as well.

The Haters say it’s only b/c of longevity, but the other 20 year guys could barely break top 10 in one category. Let that sink inβ€¦πŸ€·πŸΏβ€β™‚οΈ

James’s overall impact on the court also allows him to do more than just score, which is why he is about to be a top-5 assist-getter of all time as well.

What Does LeBron James Need To Reach These Positions?

James is just 422 points shy of Kareem for the all-time scoring list, making everyone realize that LBJ breaking that record is a matter of when and not if. James slotted into 6th all-time for assists when he crossed Magic Johnson for the same this season. He is currently 81 assists behind Steve Nash in 4th place, a very achievable target.

Reaching 8th in steals will be a bit of a taller task, but LeBron already sits 9th and is behind Clyde Drexler, but he needs 41 steals to overtake Drexler, expecting James to average over a steal a game for his remaining outings this season. He is averaging exactly one steal a game this season, so there is a chance he actually achieves it.

We can criticize these numbers as longevity stats, but we have to recognize that we haven’t ever seen someone dominate like this for as long as LeBron has. He isn’t going to be contending for a title this season, but he is giving fans a show every time he steps onto the court and puts up ridiculous numbers for someone his age.
