The Golden State Warriors are hoping to pick up an inspired Christmas Day win over 2022 Playoff rivals Memphis Grizzlies in a much-awaited rematch. The Grizzlies are among the best teams in the West, while the Warriors have been extremely underwhelming, looking like the worst team in the league in 3 losses after Curry was ruled out with an injury.

Early in the first quarter, Curry was seen whispering something to Jordan Poole, who’s been playing in the Curry role since the star’s injury. They had done this against the Knicks as well, generating hilarious fan reactions, as it has done this time around as well.

Curry has a lot of sage advice to offer in Year 14 of his career. He is slowly becoming one of the oldest players in the NBA and can possibly entertain fans for a lot more years, provided his body holds up.

Can The Golden State Warriors Return To Contention?

Even if the Warriors close out their Christmas Day game against the Grizzlies with a win, they’d just be 16-18 on the season. That isn’t enough to make the play-in, as there are a lot of teams in the West eyeing those spots to enter the playoffs. Without Curry, it’ll be hard for the Warriors to sustain winning.

Whenever Steph returns to the court, the Warriors will be that much more lethal by virtue of his return. He has been having a historic season with production comparable to his 2015-16 self. The team just hasn’t been able to win nearly enough to make him enter contention for his third MVP.
