Draymond Green is one of the best defensive players in NBA history, and there’s no doubt that he has been key for the Golden State Warriors dynasty. He is a genuine five-position defender and is an elite screener and playmaker offensively. Currently, Draymond Green is averaging 8.6 PPG, 6.3 RPG, and 7.0 APG.

There is no doubt that most people grow up wanting to be offensive superstars. However, there are definitely players who pride themselves on the defensive end like Draymond Green.

Recently, Draymond Green gave some advice to players who want to be the next Draymond Green. He claimed that the key is to “study” and have an “undying will and passion” to be great.

“No. 1, study. I try to hang my hat on my basketball IQ. That’s what I think my No. 1 attribute is to the game of basketball. And then I think it’s just undying will and passion to be great.”

“When you speak of greatness, everyone is like, ‘Oh man. You need to be the greatest player ever.’ No, I need to be the greatest Draymond Green that I can be. I don’t need to be in everyone’s Top 5. I need to be the greatest that I can be in my role. So that’s always just my focus: doing whatever I can to help the team win and letting everything else take care of itself.”

There’s no doubt that Draymond Green might not put up the best numbers, but his impact goes far beyond the box score. He is a great player in his own way, and he has anchored many championship-level defenses in his career.

Larry Brown Believes Draymond Green Is A Superstar

Most people would consider Draymond Green to have an All-Star-level impact on a team, but few would consider him a true superstar player. However, Larry Brown believes that Draymond Green is a superstar for the Warriors despite his low-scoring output, as he “does so many things to help the team win”.

You have a superstar that doesn’t score the ball in Green, but he does so many things to help the team win. I think if you talk about the best players in the NBA, if you know anything about the game, you’d always put his name in there because of all the things he does to make his teammates better.

Hopefully, we see Draymond Green get more recognition from fans in the future. He is definitely an underrated player, but Draymond Green does get a lot of respect from his coaches and other players.

There is no doubt that the Golden State Warriors need Draymond Green to continue playing elite defense if they are to win another championship. He definitely thrives within their system, and we’ll see how well Green will do for the rest of the season.
