During the 2010s, Kobe Bryant was in the prime of his career and was outright the face of the league. Kobe was a force to be reckoned with in the league, and there are many memorable moments that he gave fans to remember forever. While Bryant was undeniably the best player in the league, there was a young superstar in the making as well.

Yes, we are talking about none other than ‘The Chosen One’ LeBron James. Even before entering the league, the media had hyped James so much that the entire world had its eyes on LeBron when he finally started his NBA journey.

As anticipated by everyone, LeBron was a generational talent and quickly started to earn fame across the globe. But with that, expectations from LeBron also started to increase as well.

He was, at times, expected to lead the below-average Cleveland Cavaliers to an NBA Championship. Additionally, fans also wanted to see LeBron go head-to-head against none other than Kobe Bryant.

The closest fans came to seeing that matchup was in 2009. While the Lakers qualified to the NBA Finals, the Cavaliers were knocked out in the Eastern Conference Finals by the Orlando Magic.

Floyd Mayweather Was Once Gifted A Rare Kobe Bryant Trade Card

In 2021, Boxing star Floyd Mayweather was gifted a Kobe Bryant trading card, which was estimated to be worth around $15,000 at the time. The card featured a picture of LeBron James guarding Kobe Bryant.

Considering that the trading card’s value could go even higher in the future, the card was a must have. Moreover, it seems like Floyd quickly found a way to make that happen as he wanted to get the card signed by LeBron.

“The magic is unbelievable. I mean, he’s always given me great gifts, here’s another gift. I wanna say thank you, I appreciate you, and the world should appreciate his work. Can I get LeBron to sign it?”

There’s a reason why the boxer is called Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather. Even though the card is pretty rare, even without LBJ’s signature, he wanted to increase its value even more.

As of the time of writing this article, Mayweather is yet to reveal whether he got James’ signature on the trading card or not. Hopefully, the 45-year-old will reveal it in the future.
