Patrick Beverley’s First Reaction To Becoming A Member Of The Los Angeles Lakers: “Woke Up A Laker. It’s On!”

The Los Angeles Lakers have been doing their best to sign some significant players this offseason to avoid another bad season like last year. Last season, the Lakers focused on adding veteran players, which didn’t turn out to be a wise strategy for the Purple and Gold in the longer run.

Learning from their mistakes, the Lakers decided to sign young and energetic role players this season. Another mistake that the team made last season was giving up on defense oftentimes. This led to opposing teams making stunning comebacks against the Lakers during the second half of many games.

To fix this flaw, the Lakers have recently acquired Patrick Beverley via trade from the Utah Jazz. Beverley is well-known around the league for his defensive prowess and ability to lead the team on the defensive end of the floor.

The Lakers were in dire need of a player of his caliber. On top of that, Pat Bev is pretty vocal in pointing out the mistakes of his teammates. Every championship-caliber team needs a player who can do that.

Anyway, after finding out that he had been traded to the Lakers, the 34-year-old couldn’t contain his excitement and revealed it through a tweet.

Woke up a Laker!!! 💜💛🙏🏾 Its On!!!

The Lakers are one of the most iconic franchises in the NBA. They have a rich history and 17 NBA Championships to their name. Obviously, it’s a dream come true for Beverley to play for the Lakers.

But there are still some question marks around how he’d fit in with the team. Pat Bev has openly criticized some of the current players on the Lakers roster, and it could certainly be an issue when he plays with them.
