Several NBA legends, after retiring, go into media or coaching, spending their time around the game of basketball. Paul Pierce was no different for a while, doing some punditry for ESPN and commenting on the league before he left in dubious circumstances. But Pierce hasn’t stayed away from basketball entirely, he was recently seen causing some mayhem at an event by Tracy McGrady’s OBL.

Pierce was courtside and having a good time when he caused a bit of a mishap with the referee that was overseeing the game. For whatever reason, the Celtics icon was doing push-ups on the side of the court and ended up tripping up a backpedaling referee, much to the delight of fans on Twitter.

“Paul wtf are you doing bruh?”

“Who else but Pauly P in some more goofiness?”

“Say what you will, I love Paul Pierce.”

“This man is a born entertainer.”

“Why the hell is he doing push ups lol.”

“Why is he even down there?”

“This is absolutely hilarious.”

“We need Paul to do this at an NBA game next season, I’m on my knees.”

“Lmaooo ref said “Is that Paul Pierce” and forgot he had a job to do.”

“Bro who pushed him said ref the game.”

“A few NBA refs could use this from Paul Pierce.”

“Will this man ever stop doing the wildest sh*t?”

“Paul Pierce is the GOAT man, nah. What even is this?”

Pierce ended up parting ways with ESPN after a legendary Instagram Live in which he was surrounded by women while gambling. The former Celtics star remains one of the greatest players of his era, but it’s also hard to ignore that he has often been caught doing some hilarious stuff since his retirement. Well, if anyone can trip up a referee or two during an OBL game and get away with it, though, it’s Paul Pierce.
