Carmelo Anthony will be a first-ballot Hall of Famer when he retires. He was an elite scorer in his prime, and many will remember his time with the Denver Nuggets and the New York Knicks.
Currently, Carmelo Anthony is 38 years old, and it is quite likely that he will retire within the next few years. His son, Kiyan Anthony, is currently 15 years old, and could potentially be drafted to the NBA in a few years. Thus, it is possible for the two to play together in the league.
However, it seems as though there are no current plans for the duo to play together. A reporter recently asked Carmelo Anthony if he has plans to play with his son, similar to LeBron James, who claimed that he wanted to play with Bronny James before his retirement.
“No, no I do not.” – @carmeloanthony on if he has similar plans as LeBron to play with his son in the NBA.

No. No I do not. I think it’ll be time for me to pass him the torch, and I’d rather just pass it.
There is no doubt that it would be amazing to see Carmelo Anthony and his son play together in the league. However, there is also value in knowing when it’s time to retire, and Carmelo Anthony is willing to “just pass” the torch to his son, rather than force himself to continue his NBA journey.
As of right now, Carmelo Anthony is a free agent. He is still a fantastic bench scorer, and he is very capable of spacing the floor. Anthony averaged 13.3 PPG, 4.2 RPG, and 0.8 BPG with the Lakers last season while shooting 37.5% from beyond the arc.
It remains to be seen if Carmelo Anthony signs with another team in the future. Hopefully, we see him go to a contender and try to help a team win a title before he retires from the NBA.
