Devin Booker is one of the best shooting guards in the league and is widely viewed as the face of the Phoenix Suns. Booker is crucial to the team as the No. 1 offensive option, and his shot-creation is useful in situations where the team needs a contested bucket in clutch time.

That is why it was a huge blow to the Phoenix Suns when Devin Booker ended up exiting Game 2 with an injury. The team was unable to get the win against the New Orleans Pelicans after Booker was sidelined.

Recently, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN revealed that Devin Booker would likely miss Games 3 and 4 against the New Orleans Pelicans. He also mentioned that Booker’s injury is a Grade 1 hamstring strain, and added that usually, it takes a player “14-21 days to recover”.

Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker has suffered a Grade 1 right hamstring strain, sources told ESPN’s Brian Windhorst on Thursday.

Players with such an injury historically require approximately 14 to 21 days to recover, which would put Booker’s return during this first-round playoff series against the New Orleans Pelicans in question.

Sources told ESPN on Wednesday that Booker would likely miss Games 3 and 4 against the Pelicans and that the Suns were still evaluating his MRI results to get a full picture of the injury and a clearer timeline for a return.

Booker scored 31 points in the first half of a 125-114 loss to the Pelicans in Game 2, but he didn’t score in the third quarter. With 4:45 left in the period, he immediately asked for a timeout and went to the locker room after appearing to tweak his right hamstring as he was jumping to challenge a Jaxson Hayes dunk in transition.

It remains to be seen how much Devin Booker’s injury affects the Phoenix Suns. The Suns do have other fantastic players such as Chris Paul, Deandre Ayton, and Mikal Bridges, so they in theory have the talent to get the job done.

However, the New Orleans Pelicans do have a fair amount of talent on their roster, and they are spearheaded by a star duo featuring Brandon Ingram and CJ McCollum. This series will definitely be more difficult for the Phoenix Suns without Devin Booker, and hopefully, they rise up for the challenge.
